My doctoral thesis: hybrid materials based on MOFs to remove pollutants
In 2023 I defended my doctoral thesis at the University of the Balearic Islands, with International Mention and a grade of Excellent Cum Laude.
It is the work that brings together the foundations of my entire research line: the design, synthesis and functionalization of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and the carbon materials derived from them, with one very concrete goal: to remove organic pollutants from water.
Over these years I worked both on trapping pollutants (adsorption) and on destroying them (catalysis and photocatalysis), and even on integrating them into real devices. Many of the articles you will find on this website were born in this stage.
If you are interested in the technical detail, the link takes you to the full record of the thesis.
